For many years New Dawn has been involved with individual counselling and support groups in Ireland. At the moment New Dawn provides support for those recovering from traumas in their lives, such as relationship problems, addictions, depression and loneliness.
We are simply here to help anyone who is at a crossroads in their life.
The stress and strain of the modern lifestyle can have a severe impact of people's relationships, be they within a marriage or life partnership, a family, a friendship or even with work colleagues. In view of this trend we are in the process of organising a 24-hour phone in service with the aspiration of helping those who feel lonely, isolated, victimised or burdened in any way.
We have seen in the past, when an individual is going through a difficult or anxious stage in their life they can feel helplessness, abandonment, despondency and countless other feeling they may neither understand nor are they in a position to control . These feeling will prevent them from making clear decisions for their life path. We aim to help them feel they do not have to go through this ordeal alone. A friend will be on hand day and night to simply listen or offer advice. In the future we would hope to have a dedicated Rest House for those who need a place of quite reflection, a place of friendship and guidance. Our aim would be to provide a "bolt hole" for all ages.
There are various projects in motion at present, these include accommodating those who need a break or help to resolve their issues such as relationship issues, addiction or depression. A 24 hour hot line for those who need advice and support, to advise on the prevention of abuse within relationships for both men and women.
Most of New Dawns work in Ireland involves curbing addiction, suicide prevention, dealing with depression, and preventing domestic violence.
With this in mind we have published “Holistic Health” since 2007. Positive motivational articles to stories focusing on health issues help to heal old emotional wounds and empower individuals to lead more contented lives. This has been proven a great success as more and more people are benefiting from reading Holistic Health Magazine.
The sale of the magazines funds New Dawn’s various projects.
